Building Detente with Radical Muslims

Okay, so the problem with militant Islam is that it's militant: they kill men, women, and children and nothing we do or say can stop them. Some people say they hate us because of poverty, or colonialism, or Israel, none of which is true. The real problem is Islam itself, and the promise of an instant one-way ticket to Heaven (and 30 virgins). To understand this problem more deeply, once small insight into Arabic society is needed: under conditions of polygamy, better-connected men have a better choice of women. As a consequence, there remain large numbers of poor, uneducated men who have no available partners. This does not produce a harmonious society and thus the dream of having 30 virgins. Since we cannot negotiate with these radicals, we need to threaten the only thing they hold dear: the mosques in Jerusalem and Mecca. We need to make it very clear to the muslim fanatics around the world that if a WMD is detonated in the United States, we will wipe out their mosque in Jerusalem. If another is detonated, then we will destroy the one in Mecca. In my opinion this is the only way to prevent the deaths of millions of Americans and will ensure a new style of religious "detente" with the mad mullahs of the world. With Mecca in jeopardy, the radicals will police their own and ensure safety and security for the rest of the world.

Global stock and credit crash alert
By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, International Business Editor
Last Updated: 12:19am BST 19/06/2008

The Royal Bank of Scotland has advised clients to brace for a full-fledged crash in global stock and credit markets over the next three months as inflation paralyses the major central banks.

"A very nasty period is soon to be upon us - be prepared," said Bob Janjuah, the bank's credit strategist.

A report by the bank's research team warns that the S&P 500 index of Wall Street equities is likely to fall by more than 300 points to around 1050 by September as "all the chickens come home to roost" from the excesses of the global boom, with contagion spreading across Europe and emerging markets.

"I do not think I can be much blunter. If you have to be in credit, focus on quality, short durations, non-cyclical defensive names.

"Cash is the key safe haven. This is about not losing your money, and not losing your job," said Mr Janjuah, who became a City star after his grim warnings last year about the credit crisis proved all too accurate.

RBS expects Wall Street to rally a little further into early July before short-lived momentum from America's fiscal boost begins to fizzle out, and the delayed effects of the oil spike inflict their damage.

"Globalisation was always going to risk putting G7 bankers into a dangerous corner at some point. We have got to that point," he said.

US Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank both face a Hobson's choice as workers start to lose their jobs in earnest and lenders cut off credit.

The authorities cannot respond with easy money because oil and food costs continue to push headline inflation to levels that are unsettling the markets. "The ugly spoiler is that we may need to see much lower global growth in order to get lower inflation," he said.

Morgan Stanley warns of catastrophe
"The Fed is in panic mode. The massive credibility chasms down which the Fed and maybe even the ECB will plummet when they fail to hike rates in the face of higher inflation will combine to give us a big sell-off in risky assets," he said.

Kit Jukes, RBS's head of debt markets, said Europe would not be immune. "Economic weakness is spreading and the latest data on consumer demand and confidence are dire. The ECB is hell-bent on raising rates.

"The political fall-out could be substantial as finance ministers from the weaker economies rail at the ECB. Wider spreads between the German Bunds and peripheral markets seem assured," he said.

Ultimately, the bank expects the oil price spike to subside as the more powerful force of debt deflation takes hold next year.

Random Thoughts
1)After 9/11, most Americans aren't anxious because their "rights" are being impinged. They are anxious because there's chaos all around: foreign policy chaos, fiscal chaos, cultural chaos. The authority structures they rely on have let them down

2)Most Americans are now looking for leaders who are practical, anti-ideological, modest, and centrist.

3)All countries, including the United States, are facing a growing list of problems that are difficult to control within sovereign boundaries--financial flows, drug trade, climate change, AIDS, refugees, terrorism, cultural intrusions---to name a few.

Why nuclear-powered ships are better

and Why Ships No Longer Go To Sea
June 15, 2008 by StrategyPage

Navies are facing a crises because of rising fuel costs. Last year, these costs went up fifty percent, and another 25 percent jump is expected this year. Oil prices have been growing steadily over the past decade, as the huge economies of India and China both experienced strong growth. Global GDP has grown from $29 trillion to $48 trillion (a 65 percent jump) in the last decade, but oil production has not kept up (increasing 10 percent, while natural gas went up 29 percent and coal 40 percent). Defense spending was up 45 percent in that period, meaning that most navies (and air forces) are responding to the skyrocketing fuel prices by spending fewer days at sea. Fuel oil for ships is now approaching $600 a ton. A destroyer, moving at high speed, can burn over 100 tons a day. A large aircraft carrier is, at current fuel prices, much cheaper to run on nuclear power, than fuel oil. Even smaller ships burn a lot more fuel in aggregate.

All this means crews get less training, and naval chores get less attention. This is great news for smugglers, pirates and terrorists, who can expect to see fewer warships out on patrol, as the price of fuel keeps rising.

Putin is in da House (acting like a pimp)
Vladimir Putin, Russia’s former president and current prime minister, has been accused of using donated art to decorate the St. Petersburg palace he used as a private residence, the Daily Telegraph reports. Oligarch Alisher Usmanov recently gave the Russian state 400 works of art that he bought for $50 million last September, but instead of being displayed in galleries, the paintings have been hung in Konstantin Palace, built by Peter the Great and rebuilt in 2000 on Putin’s orders at a cost of $117 million. According to the Telegraph, while Putin has little right to use the palace since stepping down as president, Kremlin officials indicated that President Dmitry Medvedev would not stand in Putin’s way if he wanted to turn the palace into an unofficial residence.

America’s Extreme Makeover by GB
Earlier this week, I reported that the ACLU is planning to raise over $300 million in order to expand its assault on our values in the American heartland. But to get a glimpse of the “extreme makeover” the ACLU and its radical left allies have in store for us, just look to our northern neighbor. Today’s New York Times carries a chilling story about the lack of free speech and political censorship that exists in “progressive” Canada and many European countries thanks to the “tyrants of tolerance” on the Left. You may be familiar with the story – I’ve written about it before. A Canadian magazine is on trial for publishing “hate speech.” Muslim students objected to the magazine excerpting parts of Mark Steyn’s recent book, “America Alone,” which documents how demographic changes in the Western world could result in the “Islamization” of our European allies, thereby leaving America to stand alone against Islamofascism.

For proof of how nefarious these “hate crimes” laws are and how entrenched Islam has become in Europe, consider the case of French film star Brigitte Bardot. She was recently convicted of provoking racial hatred for writing a letter to Nicolas Sarkozy in 2006, saying she was “tired of being led by the nose by this population [Muslims] that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts.” For expressing her opinion, she was fined $23,000. And consider this case in Canada: Pastor Stephen Boissoin was recently convicted by the Alberta Human Rights Commission for writing a letter to the editor criticizing the homosexual indoctrination that is taking place in Canadian classrooms. He has been ordered to pay $7,000 in fines, issue a public apology and “cease publishing in newspapers, by email, on the radio, in public speeches, or on the internet, in future, disparaging remarks about gays and homosexuals.”

The assault on free speech and religious liberty in Canada is being carried out in the name of tolerance and has sadly been legitimized in law. Here is an excerpt of a 1990 Canadian Supreme Court decision limiting free speech: “…the international commitment to eradicate hate propaganda and, most importantly, the special role given equality and multiculturalism in the Canadian Constitution necessitate a departure from the view, reasonably prevalent in America at present, that the suppression of hate propaganda is incompatible with the guarantee of free expression.” Did you catch the liberal buzz words, my friends: “equality,” “multiculturalism”? And, of course, it’s government bureaucrats who define what constitutes “hate propaganda.”

Here in America, the Left has used “tolerance,” “equality” and “multiculturalism” as clubs to browbeat its political opposition and silence debate. It is the Left that has sought to shut down conservative and Christian talk radio with the Orwellian-named “Fairness Doctrine.” It is the Left that last year tried to ban “grassroots communications” in order to gag pro-family organizations. And it’s the Left that has imposed speech codes throughout our institutions of higher learning, where, ironically, academic freedom and tolerance are extolled as the highest of virtues.

I’ve said it before, but let me repeat it again: the normalization of the homosexual lifestyle – especially the legalization of same-sex “marriage” – will threaten religious liberty and free speech in America. It is happening already. A Christian photographer in New Mexico was fined $6,000 for refusing to photograph a same-sex “commitment ceremony.” A black woman lost her job in Ohio recently for writing a letter to the editor rejecting the notion that today’s homosexual rights movement is equivalent to the civil rights movement of the 1960s. Just this week, I received a message telling me that an employee at a major insurance company had been fired for expressing his opposition to the company’s sponsorship of a “gay pride day.” Is this the culture you want to pass on to your children and grandchildren? Our values and our freedoms are at stake. Fight for them!

ACLU On The Attack

The ACLU announced yesterday that it is launching its biggest fundraising campaign ever, with the immediate goal of raising $335 million. No, that’s not a misprint – that’s three hundred thirty-five million dollars! The ACLU intends to unleash these vast resources in a major assault upon the values of “heartland America.” Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU, said, “The purpose is to build a civil liberties infrastructure in the middle of the country – where battlegrounds states are often under-resourced and our efforts are most needed.”

What efforts might they be? According to the Associated Press, Romero “cited issues such as immigrants’ rights, gay rights, police brutality and opposition to the death penalty as causes that would be pursued vigorously as the ACLU expanded in heartland states. At present, the ACLU’s biggest offices are in the Northeast, the Pacific states and Illinois; targets for expansion including Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico and Tennessee. …Romero said the ACLU envisions enlarging its Texas and Florida operations” to more than 40 full-time positions in each state.

My friends, the radical Left is energized, organized and incredibly well-funded. Radicals see public policy and the pursuit of power as their religion. While George Soros could bankroll this entire operation if he wanted to (he did give $12 million), he doesn’t have to because millions of liberals are literally tithing to leftwing causes like the ACLU. The Left understands exactly what is at stake in the cultural war. It didn’t give up after 2000 and 2004. Instead, it has fought harder, worked longer and given more. Conservatives had better wake-up soon before the country we cherish is lost forever. By GB.

Liberal Champions Of Privatization?
Conservatives have scored a significant, if largely symbolic, victory in the battle of ideas on Capitol Hill. In fact, it was even front page news in the Washington Post yesterday. In the ongoing debate between bigger government versus the private sector, Senate liberals have sided with the efficacy and profitability of the private sector. But don’t get your hopes up too much. Your public servants didn’t agree to reform Social Security or end subsidies or revamp major government bureaucracies. Instead, they decided to improve their lunch menu. That’s right – in the quiet of the night, senators voted last week to privatize the failing Senate restaurants.

California Senator Dianne Feinstein, who chairs the Senate’s Rules and Administration Committee and led the privatization effort, complained that the service and food was “noticeably subpar.” Worse yet, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that the Senate’s restaurants had made a profit in only seven of 44 years. It is seems incomprehensible that even government bureaucrats could be that bad at running a restaurant that caters to “the world’s most exclusive club.” Yet, the GAO reported that “financially breaking even has not been the objective of the current management due to an expectation that the restaurants will operate at a deficit annually.” Sadly, that statement could sum up the entire federal bureaucracy. After all, it’s not their money they are wasting – just yours. By GB.

Why the Eco-Pagans must "Go Away"

For a short time I lived with a couple in Denver who were very "green". They wouldn't eat regular eggs or pasteurized milk, and certainly would never use their microwave to "nuke" their food. I grew quickly exasperated at their constant efforts to put me down for eating like a regular joe. Their constant remarks about how bad pasteurized milk was made me laugh; I briefly lived on a dairy farm with my grandparents and all sorts of "things" drop into the milk pail. This doesn't even include the reason why people pasteurize milk in the first place: to kill a deadly disease called brucellosis, which is carried in many cows milk and kills thousands of people every year who cannot heat up there milk to kill the germs. Cows are often fed hormones to increase milk production but "organic cows" produce less milk, damaging the environment by needed more cows to produce as much milk as hormone induced cows are.

This couple also ragged on my about the eggs that I bought. I thought they were so smart in paying $4 for twelve eggs, while I got mine for a dollar. However, a organic chicken's lifetime greenhouse gas emissions exceed a nonorganic birds by 45%. Take that you anti-scientific radicals!

Recently, my aunt went to visit her only child in Portland, who had somehow fallen in with this dastardly crowd. She was made to feel so unwelcome that she cut short her visit by several days and was forced to miss her only grand-daughters first birthday because her son and daughter-in-law fought with her over the food she bought in a restaurant (it was meat, OMG!). They also apparently refuse to buy clothes from overseas, and the raggedy ones they now wear make them look like third world refugees, or poorly clothed gypsies. Their behavior towards my aunt (who is a lovely women) just reinforced the fact in my family that these Gaians, these eco-pagans, these environmental radicals are just as fanatical about their "beliefs" than a Islamic terrorist is...and they will make sure you know it, too! In the end, this "green" movement will pass away and the adherents to it will discover they were foolish indeed. We just have to put up with their snobbish BS until they do discover the road back to sanity.

I'm waiting......

The Lesbians-in-Seattle Debate

My two cents; if you cannot help yourself from making your fellow man (or women) around you feel so uncomfortable that they feel compelled to complain, you deserve all the crap that rains down on you. You were looking for trouble, and maybe a little ego-boo or maybe a little cash from the Lamestream media.

Why some Women will never vote for Hillary
My aunt Bonnie is a hard-core Democrat, in fact in her 50+ years of life I don't believe that she has ever voted Republican. This type of voting bias comes from the fact that both of her parents are also die-hard Democrats and haven't ever voted Republican either. This year is different, however. For the first time in her life, my aunt is going to vote Republican, and here's why: a few months ago Hillary Clinton cried in front of an audience when she assumed she was losing the Democratic nomination for President to Barak Obama. That one act so turned off my aunt that she (and my grandmother!) both decided to vote for John McCain instead. I asked her why this was such a big deal and she said that if Hillary was going to cry over votes, she couldn't possibly stand up to mean and nasty dictators around the world who would do much more than just call her names. This single sign of weakness in Hillary doomed much of her run as President. My aunt said it was absolutely critical that the United States appear strong (and not weak) in the world when considering the islamic threat to our nation and the world. "What we need....no, must have, is a strong President. Period. I don't care that she is a woman." My grandmother had the same sentiment and I find it ironic that something that women do on a regular basis, cry, was the one thing that turned many women against her. Very ironic indeed.

Suburbia and Blacks, and Gay Marriage

Who the Clintons' REALLY are by Dick Morris
In January 1998, right after The Washington Post revealed President Bill Clinton’s relationship with Monica, I spoke with him about his predicament. Shell-shocked and stunned at the calls for his impeachment, he knew he was facing the fight of his life. At first, he was vintage Bill Clinton: maudlin, sad and full of self-pity. But as we talked, he gradually changed his tone. Admitting that he was not innocent, but recognizing his diminishing support, he then told me defiantly: “Well, we’ll just have to win.”

Several years later, I was surprised to read in Sidney Blumenthal’s memoirs that then-first lady Hillary Clinton had used the exact same words on the exact same day in a conversation with the White House aide. “We’ll just have to win.”

That’s how the Clintons think — no matter what, they have to win. Winning is everything, and how you do it is not determined by any inner sense of values or ethics, but by a resolve to do whatever needs to be done, no more and certainly no less. So, on that day in January 1998 — because they had to win — their campaign to discredit a 23-year-old intern began in the White House. Private investigators dug up her old boyfriends. White House operatives spread the word that it was the president who was the victim. The young woman was an unbalanced stalker.

As impeachment unfolded, the extramarital affairs of key members of the Republican leadership in the House were suddenly outed.

Hillary Clinton began the disinformation campaign. Appearing on “The Today Show,” she righteously claimed that there was nothing to support Lewinsky’s claims and insisted that Bill was just “ministering” to a “troubled young woman.” Then came the blue dress and the Clintons finally — and reluctantly — changed gears.

But they never changed philosophies. Winning is still everything. No matter who gets destroyed, offended or hurt in the process.

We’ve seen it throughout Hillary’s campaign: the race-baiting by Bill Clinton in South Carolina and by Hillary in Kentucky. His comparison of Obama to Jesse Jackson and her talk about “hard-working whites” was not accidental. The Clintons don’t make verbal mistakes.

Everything they say is deliberate. And then Bill Clinton actually had the nerve to say that it was the Obama campaign and not him — that they had played the race card. Once again, he’s the victim.

Now Bill and Hillary are desperate to keep Hillary in the race. Despite mathematical impossibility, the Clintons are biding their time. Out of money and out of delegates, they are waiting for some unknown force to suddenly emerge and change the race. That’s why Hillary made the reference to Bobby Kennedy.

Because the Clintons know, better than most people, that time has often been a friend.

Anything can happen. Remember how, in 2001, they left the White House as pariahs amid the uproar about the last-minute pardons involving brothers of both of them, the hundreds of thousands of dollars in gifts of china, silver and furniture that they arranged to get from donors, and the theft of White House furniture. They were in disgrace. Hillary’s first press conference was a defense of her brothers’ payments for pardons. Both Clintons were lambasted by The New York Times, The Washington Post and every other media outlet. And, in Bill’s last hours in office, he pleaded guilty to crime and was disbarred.

But seven years later, Hillary has come amazingly close to becoming the Democratic Party nominee. And until he destroyed his reputation by his bizarre and belligerent behavior in Hillary’s campaign, Bill Clinton was the most popular guy in the world.

Time allowed Bill and Hillary to remake themselves — he as a save-the-world philanthropist and she as a hard-working senator who got along with everyone.

Just like time had turned the special counsel’s draft indictment of Hillary into scrap paper, particularly after Jim McDougal, the chief witness, died in prison.

And time erased the memory of the Clintons’ pardon of the FALN terrorist group to help Hillary with the Puerto Rican community.

But now time is finally running out for the Clintons. They’ve stayed at the party too long, and it isn’t a pretty sight. But they won’t leave gracefully. No way. They still believe that there’s a chance to win. And they’ll do anything to make that happen.

Because they just have to win.

Why (White) Suburbia Exists
Haha....someone said today what I have always thoughts. Former Bill Clinton adviser (for almost 20 years) Dick Morris said that the busing system that was meant to de-segregate the South did the exact opposite, which makes sense. No one can be forced to live near people they choose not to. Here is the quote: "Busing failed to integrate our schools and led, instead, to greater segregation as whites fled to the suburbs and/or to private schools." He is right and the State, especially the federal government, should stop trying to social integrate groups who do not want to be integrated. This sort of thing is completely totalitarian and un-American and I am glad it didn't "work".

On Gay Marriage by GB
Also, I am discovering that gays (especially gay men) are completely not interested in Democracy. California officials have announced that the state will begin issuing same-sex “marriage” licenses on June 17th. Unless the state Supreme Court agrees to stay its ruling until after the November election, when the people will have the opportunity to vote on a marriage protection amendment, marriage licenses in America’s most populace state will no longer read “Husband” and “Wife” but will instead list “Party A” and “Party B.” That’s just the beginning. The words “husband” and “wife” will soon disappear from our lexicon altogether, having been banished as “hate speech” as they are exclusionary and discriminatory. The words will be banned from textbooks because they might offend some parent whose child doesn’t have a mother and a father but instead two “parties.”

In response to an appeals court ruling brought by a homosexual couple “married” in Canada, the governor of New York has just issued an executive order requiring the Empire State to recognize homosexual “marriages” performed in other jurisdictions, such as California, Canada and Massachusetts. According to the New York Times, New York will be the only state that recognizes homosexual “marriages” where homosexual “marriage” is not legal. How can that be? In 2006, the state’s highest court refused to recognize same-sex “marriage” and rightly said the issue should be decided by the legislature. But the governor’s action effectively circumvents the state’s highest court, bows to foreign law and violates the principle of separation of powers by superseding the legislature. Again, we are witnessing the advance of the homosexual agenda by the most undemocratic means possible. The governor of New York and the appeals court judges should be impeached.

In response to earlier efforts to redefine the meaning of marriage, concerned citizens successfully passed marriage protection amendments in 27 states. The amendments are subject to federal court review, which is probably coming sooner than we realize. To counter that threat, the pro-family movement has promoted a federal marriage amendment, but liberal politicians in Congress have defeated it twice. While I share the frustration of many conservatives over how weakly the amendment was supported by the president and Republican members of Congress, the sad fact is even if every Republican senator had voted for the amendment, it still would have fallen ten votes short of the two-thirds super-majority required to pass, because only two Democrats supported it. While the state marriage amendments have passed by an average vote of 69%, the meaning of marriage has regrettably become a partisan issue in Congress.

Here’s my point: The Founders made it hard to amend the Constitution. It’s especially hard in a country that is so closely divided between Left and Right, as we are today. What the Founders could not have anticipated, however, is that our courts would rewrite the Constitution every time they met, which is exactly what’s being done at the state and federal level. That’s one reason why judicial appointments generally, and the next two or three Supreme Court appointments specifically, are so important.

It's time that Democracy had its way, and these small groups that are trying to seize power over the majority be told to take a hike!

The only Smart Politician in America
Congressman Gene Green (D-TX) told CNBC, "We also need more exploration. But we really need to get more oil to the market, particularly from our own country. The best signal we can send to OPEC and anywhere else in the world is maybe not filing a lawsuit against them but actually saying 'we are going to start producing in our own country.'"

Yeah!
